Strauss, Johann, the Younger

  1. An Austrian composer of the nineteenth century. Strauss, sometimes called the “Waltz King,” is the most famous composer of Viennese waltzes, such as “The Blue Danube” and “Tales from the Vienna Woods.” He also composed the music for the popular light opera Die Fledermaus (The Bat).
